Spiti Valley is where the Himalayas reveal their most dramatic and otherworldly face. Sitting at an average altitude of 3,800 metres in the cold desert of Himachal Pradesh, Spiti is everything that the more popular Ladakh is — but without the crowds and commercial infrastructure.

Two Ways to Enter Spiti Valley

Route 1: Via Shimla

  • Shimla → Narkanda → Rampur → Rekong Peo → Nako → Tabo → Kaza
  • Total distance: ~430 km from Shimla
  • Open: Throughout the year (occasional closures)

Route 2: Via Manali
